FOSPA Vision was known as Foundation of Saving People Association (FOSPA) started in the year 1999 by its founder, Daniel Appiah-Kubi, an old student of Kumasi Academy located at Asokore Mampong. The NGO begun to educate second cycle institution students on HIV/AIDS pandemic disease in Ghana. In 2003, FOSPA held a programme at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital where the late Prof Kwesi Andam was the main Guest speaker while the now Lawyer Ohene Gyan of Kessben FM was the MC (ref to In order to have an international image and overcoming its limitations across borders as well as having legal backing of what the organisation does, the NGO was rebranded and registered in the year 2009 as ‘FOSPA Vision International Foundation’. The NGO was registered to undertake the following activities:

  • Educational/apprenticeship sponsorship
  • Volunteering services
  • Leadership training
  • Human rights advocacy
  • Campaigning against HIV/AIDS and other health issues

After re-branding and registration, the foundation has sponsored more than 20 LLB applicants under our educational sponsorship programme to pursue University of London Law degree in Ghana between 2010 and 2014. The foundation also introduced KYS examinations and counseling for BECE candidates in the year 2011 where a number of students have benefited from receiving free books packages and awards scheme (Refer to picture gallery).

In January 2016, the foundation under the apprenticeship sponsorship programme introduced the ‘apprenticeship scheme’ with the aim of eradicating poverty within the Ghanaian informal sector. In less than six months of its introduction, ie April 2016, more than 20 people have been put in various vocations such as hairdressing, hair plaiting, dressmaking, decoration, bread baking etc. These are people who are financially disadvantaged who were not able to continue their education or even learn any vocation (Refer to picture gallery). They are currently under the care of the NGO until they graduate from their various apprenticeships. A graduation ceremony shall be held for the successful ones where certificate of competence shall be issued to them. We shall also establish them by putting up containers/shops and providing them the necessary logistics to operate as masters of their own.

The vision keeps on glowing and we take this opportunity to invite all well-meaning individual Ghanaians, corporate bodies, SMEs, politicians, chiefs, MNCs etc. to contribute both in kind and in cash to help this worthy course for our dear nation. Donations are welcome to support those that we have put in various vocations like sowing machines, driers & other hairdressing tools, sanitary pads & dresses for the ladies, detergents, sachet water, Milo, sugar, milk, cash (just your widows mite by sending airtel money to 0269-717 510) or Mobile Money 0544 750 230 etc. All your donations shall be accounted for by giving it back to society to support the vulnerable.
